Shilpi Gupta, A fashion brand management graduate from the University of Central Lancashire, UK launches her very first label called ‘Surkhab’ and had her first exhibit at Bikaner House, New Delhi with an aim to revive and reclaim the beauty of age-old craft techniques unique to India.
Shilpi Gupta hails from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, later she shifted to New Delhi in 1996 post her marriage. She partnered with her husband Mr. Rajeev Gupta who is an industrialist himself and post her graduation began the hunt of different artifacts from across the country. Shilpi Gupta has been known for her work for quite a while and she has showcased another masterpiece with her latest spring collection. Shilpi has exhibited her designs at LA Villa. She was recognized in fashion capitals like Milan London & Dubai. With her spring 2018 Haute Couture Collection, she graced the audience with the work and being a great host.
The launch was held over a cocktail evening, the label launched its ‘Royal Heritage’ collection, on display with a one of a kind ‘Fashion Experience’. The champagne flowed, as the guests were enthralled with a classical performance by Legendary Birju Maharaj’s granddaughter Shinjini Kulkarni, followed by a musical evening with a fusion of classical and folk music by Grammy award winner, Salil Bhatt.
The event was enlightened in the presence of Prince Adithya Varma from Royal Family of Travancore along with other Royal families, Celebrities & Politicians & Aditya Bharadwaj. Legendary Birju Maharaj, Barkha Rai & Luxury consultant Madhavi Advani were also present during the launch. Along with Jay Madan (Celebrity Astrologer), Neha Gupta (Esha Gupta’s sister) the launch was a perfect hit.
