Hello Womeniya City Desk :

Hundreds of women from Inspiring Indian Women (UK & India based NGO ) in Mumbai state marched and Peace Candle walk at Carter road Bandra on Friday night in protest against the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at a state-run hospital in Kolkata last week. The Theme of this March was  “ISS RAAT KI SUBAH NAHI”

ISS RAAT KI SUBAH NAHI
When will this night end?
The ‘Dawn’ lost its way on August 9th. Dr Moumita Debnath who was on her 36 hours of Duty at #RGKar Hospital never saw the morning when three sick youth tore her apart after raping her. This horrendous incident sent shock waves all over the nation.

IIW Inspiring Indian Women amongst many organisations got into action by being part of the widescale protests, candlelight vigil demanding safer workplace for women and justice for Sister Dr Moumita.
Peaceful candles walk for the rape and murderered victim, a female Doctor on duty in Kolkata was organised on Sunday 18th August 24 at 8pm at Bandra from Carter Road children’s play area to Bandstand

We demand the authorities to bring the culprits to book and only a death sentence will bring justice “, Said Sangeeta Chtlani from IIW.

What has changed since Nirbhaya to Abhaya? What are the mothers teaching their boys? Where did our education system fail? Why the respect for women has diminished and a sick society rising ?
We seek justice for Abhaya (name muted due to legal compliances), a dedicated doctor who was brutally raped and murdered on duty at RG Kar Hospital, Kolkata on the 9th of August 2024. We shall continue striving to ensure the seventeen points below are achieved!!
1. “Empower Her, Secure Her.”
2. “Safe Spaces, Strong Women.”
3. “Security for Women, Equality for All.”
4. “Protect Her Rights, Ensure Her Safety.”
5. “Safety for Her, Progress for All.”
6. “Respect, Protect, Empower.”
7. “Her Safety is Non-Negotiable.”
8. “Safe Workplaces, Confident Women.”
9. “Security for Women, Strength for the Workplace.”
10. “Secure Women, Secure Future.”
11. 11. “No More Silence, Demand Justice!”
12. “Stand Up, Speak Out, Seek Justice!”
13. “Her Voice Matters, Her Life Matters.”
14. “Justice Delayed is Justice Denied!”
15. “We Demand Truth, We Demand Justice!”
16. “Raise Your Voice, Fight for Justice!
17. “In Her Name, We Stand for Justice!”

We will not stop. IIW has joined Medicos Women Charity organisation in UK led by Dr Dipti Jain. Together we are part of the Silent Candlelight vigil on 22nd August at Parliament Square, London near Gandhi Statue.
A google form has been in circulation getting on board maximum organisation in support to create a larger impact.
This march is not just a demonstration but a unified call for justice from citizens across the country. Doctors, engineers, professionals, NGOs, and people from various walks of life are joining hands in solidarity. We expect a gathering of over 100 people, all standing tall in their pursuit of justice.
Stricter laws against rape and any form of violence against women is the need of the hour. Each small step counts in for a big change. “The night is ours”, The phrase is a rallying cry for women demanding safety and reclaiming public spaces at night. These protests highlight the issue of violence against women and calls for greater accountability and action to ensure their safety.
This will help us reach those who can bring about real change – The Government. We believe that with the support of more voices like yours, our collective cry for justice will echo where it matters most.
