IMHS 2.0: Women at the Forefront of India’s Mental Health Revolution

The Indian Mental Health Summit 2.0, organized by dynamic psychologists Pritha Saha Dutta, Bhakti Joshi, Jahanvi Agrawal, Farida Soni, and Purvi Shah, created ripples of change at The Beatle Hotel, Powai, Mumbai. This milestone event brought together over 300 professionals, students, and mental health advocates, all united in the mission to advance the mental health landscape in India.

Celebrating the contributions of incredible women, IMHS 2.0 featured Psychologist Samindara Sawant, Sexuality Educator Anju Kish, and Vaginismus Specialist Dr. Taru Jindal, who addressed taboo-breaking topics with courage and insight. Forensic Psychologists Janavi Doshi and Krupa Nishar delved into the evolving field of criminal psychology, while Indian psychology stalwarts like Asira Chirmuley, Suchitra Inamdar, and Dr. Kaneenica Ninawe brought forward invaluable cultural perspectives. Contributions from Dr. Priyanka Thakral Mahajan and Dr. Shefali Batra highlighted the power of combining clinical expertise with compassionate care for addiction/ dependence/ substance use disorder and rehab.

The summit explored five groundbreaking panels: Rehab & New Age Drugs, Forensic & Criminal Psychology, Indian Psychology, Sexuality & Sexual Wellness, and Body Modification Surgery and Beyond. These discussions not only informed but inspired, showcasing a future where mental health care is both innovative and inclusive.

Attendees also had access to interactive exhibits featuring cutting-edge tools and networking opportunities that fostered collaborations and career advancements. Beyond the intellectual discussions, the event shone as a symbol of the collective power of women leaders, who are not only shaping but reshaping the narrative of mental health in India.
