Women Social entrepreneurship is vital for our future. Collectively we can make a change by closing the gap between men and women in the workforce. Entrepreneurs are those adventurous, daredevils who drive deep into the pressing problems of society and try to find solutions to them, not by leaving the responsibilities in the reins of the government or business, but by trying to change systems as whole and persuading societies to take new initiatives.
In our Social Entrepreneur series today we are introducing you a very dynamic and popular Social Entrepreneur of Nagercoil she is known for her remarkable and outstanding performance in social field particular in Inner Wheel Club who always believes in Women Empowerment and social entrepreneurship. Yes, we are talking about Mrs.S.Parvathi Vijayakumar, President Inner Wheel Club of Nagercoil, District 321, she shared her Service and Charity Project with Hello Womeniya Correspondent Priyanka Yadav.
Brief Introduction of Parvathi Vijayakumar:
Mrs.S.Parvathi Vijayakumar is a Social Activist and an Active Rotarian.
She is the founder of Kanyakumari Kennel Club and Life member of Kennel Club of India. She conducted 28 All India Breeds Shows in Kanyakumari District.
She is the treasurer of Guild of Service and Secretary of Kanyakumari District Agri and Horticulture Society and Past President of Nagercoil Toastmasters Club.She achieved DTM Award in Toastmasters forum.
Project 1:
Contributed Air bed for bed ridden old age people, Rubber sheets, Walker, Diapers, Under pad, Wet Wipes, House Coats and Dresses, Oranges to Abhaya Kendra for abandoned old people. One 105 year old man also maintained by this home.
Project 2:
To create Cervical Cancer Awareness in Cervical cancer awareness week , Our club printed Cervical Cancer Awareness pamphlets .While distributing the pamphlets in Eraviputoor, Pancha lingapuram & Kottavilai, Dr. Gayathri Priyadharshini, gave an awareness speech among the women and President Parvathi Vijayakumar informed them about the free Cervical cancer Papsmear test Camp arranged by IWC Nagercoil in collaboration with Be Well Hospitals. Presidents of the Village panchayats took the responsibility to distributed the notice to all the women in the village.
Beneficiaries: 297 in person & more than 1500 women of the villages.

Project 3:
Medical camp and General check up including blood test for Anemia diagnosis were arranged in our adopted village Kottavilai. Also distributed Iron, Vitamin & Calcium Tablets to the needy anemic anaemic people. The camp was inaugurated by our District Chairman Mrs. Cinda Jojy by Video call. Beneficiaries:74

Contributed Sleeping mats, Wall fans, Stationery items, Sanitary Napkins, Provisions and financial educational assistance to the inmates of Thejeswi Orphange home for girl Children.

Project 5:
Breast feeding week Celebrated @Theroor Anganvaadi and distributed 24 Multi Grain Health Mix to 10 Breast Feeding mothers and 14 Pregnant women. Our member Dr. Gopika Priyadharshini gave an Awareness speech about the importance of Breast feeding and clear the doubts of the feeding mothers and pregnant women.

Project 6:
The friendship meet of the IWC of Nagercoil & Tirunelveli, ‘Kumari Nellai carnival started with the visit to the Sri Balaji Temple @Kanyakumari. This was preceded by breakfast hosted by the President of IWC of Nagercoil. And was followed by the visit to Kumari Amman Temple and Thanumalayan Temple at suchindram, where guided tours, were arranged by the president of Inner Wheel club of Nager coil to explain the history of the temples. After the devotional segment, the Carnival headed to Vattakotai, a famous ancient historical fort. The lunch at Vivekananda Kendra situated in a beautiful pollution free zone was a welcome. Not swaying away from the Inner Wheel motto of Friendship and Service, both the clubs jointly sponsored 16 sets of trousers and T-shirts to the children of Saradha Anbhu Illam Orphanage. Sweets were also distributed to the children.The Joint meeting was conducted in the Eco Park, amidst a rich green environment. The highlight of the meeting was the District treasurer, Mrs. Swarnalatha’s , speech on friendship. IWC Nagercoil gifted 10 varieties of Vegetable seeds, Earthworm manure and Coco Peat to the members of the Thirunelveli club. Three new members were inducted into the Inner Wheel club of Tirunelveli by PDC Mrs. Amudha Rajendran. The Nagercoil club President, Mrs. Parvathi Vijayakumar welcomed the new members,into the inner wheel fold, with Welcome gifts. Mrs.Gomathi Mariappan President IWC Tirunelveli also gave return gifts to members of IWC of Nagercoil .Club flags were exchanged by the Club Presidents . Followed by tea at Vivekanandha Kendra, the last spot was the Sunset point. The fading sunlight and home calls , compelled us to part our ways, with loads of loving memories to be cherished.
Project 7:
Contributing two Sewing machines to two economically downdrodden women to earn for their family’s livelyhood.

Brief Introduction of International Inner Wheel:
International Inner Wheel is an international women’s Social organisation to create friendship, service and understanding. It has clubs in over 100 countries with over 100,000 members. IWC has very strong presence in India. It has more than 3000 thousands clubs in Urban and rural India. Since the Covid-19 Pandemic breaks out Inner wheel club launched charity campaign worldwide. In our Inner wheel Social entrepreneur series in this Episode we are introducing very popular face of IWC; she doesn’t need any kind of Introduction.
