Ms. Devangi Dalal Appointed As First Indian For (CGHH) Who Works With WHO

Ms. Devangi Dalal an audiologist and Speech Therapist is a Co-Founder of JOSH Foundation with experience over 28 years. She is the first Indian to win the Humanitarian Award from the American Academy of Audiology. She is also the first Indian to present the Learning Module “A Road map to Independence for Children with Hearing Impairment in Developing Countries” at Audiology now- 2016—conference organized by the American Academy of Audiology Phoenix, Arizona, USA. She actively organizes and participates in events where she can spread awareness about hearing-impaired children. So far, her foundation has distributed 1100+ hearing aids to underprivileged – hearing impaired children and has been able to make children of 12 schools wear 100 % digital hearing aids.

Her core motto is to make the world understand that hearing impaired is no more handicapped. Besides all this, she has achieved something really huge. Coalition for Global Hearing Health (CGHH) who works with WHO planning hearing and health advocacy for all the countries has appointed Devangi as a member of Advocacy.  Only 10 audiologists are been selected from all over the world and she is the only Indian!

In this tough time of Pandemic, she has made motivational videos in Hindi and English both to encourage people to stay positive. She has also written articles to spread awareness and stay positive while staying at home and utilize the time to make bonds stronger.

As she rightly believes about creating awareness and educating people to be alert and understand potential helps each other to make a community strong which will ultimately make our country strong.

Moreover, to create awareness she is conducting online sessions for hearing-impaired senior citizens to guide them on how to take care of their hearing aids, and also she is running telephonic health service while on-call resolving issues related to hearing aids. She is also conducting live sessions for young people to encourage them on using the lockdown period to improve their communication skills and bring out the best in you as ‘Self Confidence is the need of the day.’
