Raksha Bandhan, one of the most cherished and socially significant festivals in India, was celebrated on August 19th throughout the country with great enthusiasm.
This festival honors the sacred bond between brothers and sisters. On this auspicious occasion, sisters tie a Rakhi around their brothers’ wrists, while brothers offer blessings and a promise of protection in return.
Vaishali Bothra, a prominent social entrepreneur based in Mumbai, along with her female colleagues Hutoxi Irani Gita Daiv,Manaz Irani and Anamica Patel  traveled from Mumbai to the Jaisalmer  border in Rajasthan. There, they met with personnel from the Border Security Force and celebrated Raksha Bandhan.
The group also performed Aarti and shared sweets to mark the occasion. “It is a privilege for me to celebrate this year’s Raksha Bandhan with my courageous brothers, the Army Jawans stationed at the Jaisalmer border.
These moments are incredibly precious to me and my colleagues, and while words may fail to capture their significance, I can only express that God will protect them, and my blessings will always be with them,” stated Vaishali Bothra in a conversation with Hello Womeniya from the Line of Control in Jaisalmer.
