Brief Introduction of IWC :

International Inner Wheel  Club is an international women’s organisation to create friendship, service and understanding. It has clubs in over 100 countries with over 100,000 members.IWC has very strong presence in India. It has more than 3000 thousands clubs in Urban and rural India. Since the Covid 19 Pendamic breaks out Inner wheel club launched charity campaign worldwide. 

Notably, Inner wheel club is an active and vibrant organisation  that aids the poor and needy people even in nature’s calamity.

If essential items to the needy and poor.

Amid this Covid-19 2nd Wave pandemic, everyone is going through dilemmas and the Inner Clubs  are trying to minimise it

Needless to mention Inner wheel club  have accomplished numerous significant social projects in medical, vocational, educational, and many other areas of endeavor.

In the midst of this Pandemic, they are providing benefits to the needy ones.

Even in the 1st Wave of the pandemic Inner wheel  Club have risen to the grim situation and dustributed essential items to the needy and poor.

In our Inner wheel series in this episode we are introducing Varija Jagadeesh Inner wheel club’s District Chairman of
District 318 who shared  her realistic pandemic  experience with Hello Womeniya News.

Varija Jagadeesh while sharing her experience about lockdown charity work conveyed that,” With regard to charity and social work I would like to share that the clubs in our District have done projects costing around Rs. 55 lakhs. Most of the projects were aimed to assist the economically downtrodden and distressed during the lockdown period. To name a few : installation of solar water power plant, solar street light, water purifiers to Govt. Schools, Govt. Hospitals, Public places etc. Many awareness programme to educate the rural people about COVID 19 conducted.

Varija Jagadeesh girth added, “During the year 2020-21 our clubs have undertaken around 1200 projects till date. We hope to add some more in the remaining period. May be another 100-150, said Varija Jagadeesh

She furthermore added, “Mega Project from

IWC Mysore Midtown. Solar pump water project, About 70kms from Mysore, along the forests bordering Kerala is Seegevadi – a submersible Solar pump has been installed & water is pumped to a 3000 litre tank,
This total cost of the project is Rs 1.73 lakhs.
Total number of beneficiaries are around 25 tribal families, and Lake Cleanup Campaign – Inner Wheel Club of Mysore South East partnered with Rotary Club of Mysore South East, RCC Hadinaru, ASHA workers and NSS students of Government school to clean a lake in Hadinaru village in Nanjangud Taluk, Mysore. We cleaned and around 5 tons of waste was disposed. This 192- acre lake is a winter destination for migratory birds like Black headed geese from Mongolia. Nanjangud Taluk’s Tahsildar Mrs Mohanakumari participated in the event.”

When Hello Womeniya  Correspondent asked what type of challenges they were faced she said, “Handling second wave is more challenging than the first one. We are advising our members to follow all the precautions as advised by Government/Health departments. Most of the meetings are held virtually. Requesting our members and their family to get vaccinated as per their eligibility.”

Our District 318 consist of eight revenue District of Karnataka, most of them in western ghats. There are 45 clubs in our District, with a total membership of around 1500. There are two major cities namely, Mysore and Mangalore.

When asked about what appeal do you want to give the people she conveyed that,” My humble submission to our viewers is that take all precautions and follow the government guidelines strictly. At the same time don’t get afraid and develop positive attitude. Please remember that the history has proved that we definitely win our war against Virus. Please get vaccinated at the earliest.”

She futher added, “Members are extremely scared about second wave. No one is ready to go out of their home. In spite of that we are in constant touch with each other using social media. We are conducting our meetings through Zoom, Google Meet etc.”
